Welcome to the Chemical Pictures Wet Plate Collodion Photography Online Workshop! It's very important that you read all of the following information before you sign up for the program.
Here's the concept: I would like to be your advisor or teacher for a year, or longer, while you learn the Wet Plate Collodion process. While it will be instruction and help from a distance, it will be personal, very interactive and very rigorous. My goal is to refine this way of teaching Wet Plate Collodion with the hope of allowing people that are short on time and/or money access to learn this beautiful process.
 The membership, or tuition, costs $199 USD (credit cards only) and is good for one year from the day you sign up. After the first year, there is a $99 USD fee for each additional year to access the video podcasts and forum board (this is optional).
With the membership, you will receive:
My book, "Chemical Pictures: The Wet Plate Collodion Photography Workshop Book & DVD". This material will be sent to you via USPS (America) or Deutsche Post (Europe & Other) after you sign up. (The books and DVDs will begin shipping the first week in August, 2009).
One year access to this web site - STUDIOQ.INFO - completely dedicated to teaching the Wet Plate Collodion process. You also have access to monthly video podcasts on a variety of topics (these begin in August, 2009) including the never ending list of troubleshooting problems, new techniques, new products to use in the process, etc. There's also a private, technical forum board - "Chemical Pictures Forum Board". It's only open to students enrolled in this system, no one else. And last, but not least, access to me. We'll be doing some Skype chats throughout the year and maybe some other community building type of events.
To reiterate: the "system" is made up of three (3) parts: the book, DVD, and this web site (www.studioQ.info). It's important that you use these in conjunction with one another. The book has all of the detailed information, the videos are an overview and a visual resource for techniques and methodologies and this web site has a private "Chemical Pictures Forum Board" and the monthly video podcasts.
After you sign up, you will have immediate access to the entire video workshop series. These are streaming videos and require a DSL internet connection or better. If you don't have a good DSL connection, the videos will stop and start. Also, you cannot download the videos from this site. When you receive your DVD, you'll have the exact same videos except for the monthly podcasts and any dynamic content. The forum requires a login as well, you will receive an email with this information and it will also be on page five of your book.
Because of the interactive and dynamic nature of this information, this site is the only place this material is available (it's not available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.). Every book and DVD is numbered and associated with your account. This ensures you get what you paid for and protects me as well.
